Replacement of Dust Suppression and Extraction Equipment

Challenge: Excessive dust emissions at the coal processing plant posed potential health risks to workers and raised environmental concerns, prompting the need for an effective and sustainable dust suppression solution.
Solution: COENG designed and installed a state-of-the-art dust extraction and suppression system tailored to the specific needs of the coal processing plant. This advanced solution effectively minimized airborne particulate emissions, significantly improving air quality, ensuring regulatory compliance, and creating a safer working environment.

Upgrade of Dust Control plants at Coal Complexes

Challenge: The plant was found to be non-compliant with environmental regulations due to excessive dust emissions, posing risks to both operational continuity and environmental stewardship.

Solution: To address the plant’s non-compliance, COENG developed and implemented a state-of-the-art dust suppression system. This solution was engineered to meet stringent environmental and safety standards, effectively reducing dust emissions and restoring regulatory compliance while improving overall site conditions.

EPCM Projects for Concentrator Plants

Challenge: A mining operation required the development of a high-capacity concentrator plant to process ore from multiple reef types, each presenting unique mineralogical and metallurgical characteristics. The project posed a significant challenge due to the need for complex integration of various processing streams – including crushing, milling, flotation, and gravity separation – into a single, cohesive system. The plant had to be designed for high throughput, operational flexibility, and consistent recovery performance, all while accommodating the variability of the ore and ensuring long-term efficiency.

Solution: COENG was appointed as the Owner’s Engineer and EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management) Contractor for the Balance of Plant of the first processing module.

The scope of work included the full integration of crushing, milling, flotation, thickening, and tailings handling systems across multiple processing circuits.

The plant was developed in close collaboration with an international turnkey contractor, with a modular design approach that allows for seamless future expansion.
